Doing the Work Manifesto – A3 Letterpress Print

The wording of this manifesto was produced collaboratively by speakers and attendees at the St Bride Foundation annual conference, October 2025 titled “Doing the Work”. Letterpress printed at St Bride Foundation Printing Workshop on A3 165gsm, vibrant yellow paper kindly supplied by Fenner Paper .

Doing the Work at St Bride Foundation was a participatory conference dedicated to recognising and amplifying marginalised voices.

Through talks, discussions, and a collaborative workshop, we:
- Celebrated the creative brilliance of marginalised designers.

- Confronted the realities of racism and exclusion in the design industry.

- Explored pathways to build an inclusive, equitable future for all.

The day culminated in a collective act of creation: together with our facilitators and speakers, participants workshoped ideas into this shared manifesto.

This manifesto stands as a permanent record of our conversations and commitments – a tool for designers and organisations to adopt, promote, and live by.

It is an invitation to listen, to reflect, to act – and to do the work, together.
